Advertising and Cookie Data: We and our third-party advertising partners, including Google, collect data through cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve relevant advertisements. This is explained in detail in the Cookies and Third-Party Advertising sections below.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. Games Genie uses cookies for three purposes.

Necessary cookies are required for the site to function correctly. These cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These cookies collect information in a non-identifying form.

Advertising cookies are placed by us and our third-party advertising partners to serve ads that are relevant to your interests, based on your browsing behaviour on this and other websites.

You can control or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect how the site functions. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising specifically by visiting Google’s Ads Settings or the Your Online Choices platform.

Third-Party Advertising

Games Genie displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and potentially other third-party advertising networks. These networks use cookies and web beacons to collect data about your visits to this and other websites in order to show you relevant ads.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your prior browsing activity. For more information on how Google uses data when you visit sites that use its advertising services, please visit How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Games Genie does not control the content of third-party advertisements and is not responsible for any products, services, or claims made within them. We do not pass personally identifiable information to advertisers without your explicit consent.

Lawful Basis for Processing

Under the GDPR, we are required to identify a lawful basis for each type of data processing we carry out.

We process usage and technical data on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating and improving the website.

We process contact form data on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding to your inquiry.

We process your newsletter email address on the basis of your consent, given at the point of sign-up. You may withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.

We process advertising and cookie data on the basis of your consent, where required, or on the basis of our legitimate interests in funding the site through advertising, where consent is not required by applicable law.

Use of Your Information

To Provide Services: Your information is used to personalise and improve your experience on the site, including providing tailored game recommendations.

To Improve and Maintain the Site: We use data to troubleshoot issues, analyse performance, and guide product development.

To Send Our Newsletter: If you have subscribed, we use your email address to send you our newsletter. This is the only purpose for which your newsletter email address is used.

To Serve Advertising: We and our advertising partners use cookie data to serve relevant advertisements on the site.

Sharing of Your Information

Third Parties: We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with third-party service providers where necessary to operate the site, such as analytics or advertising providers. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests from public authorities, such as a court or government agency.

Security of Your Data

Protection Measures: We employ administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information from unauthorised access and use. Newsletter email addresses are stored in encrypted form. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain contact form data for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and resolve any related issues, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised unless further retention is required by law.

We retain your newsletter email address for as long as you remain subscribed. On unsubscribing, your address will be removed from our mailing list promptly.

Usage and technical data is retained in aggregate, non-identifying form for as long as it is useful for site improvement purposes.

Children’s Privacy

Games Genie is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@games-genie.com so we can take appropriate action. Because we display third-party advertising, we recommend that parents supervise their children’s use of the site.
