Demonologist is the game my group tried right after we'd worn out Phasmophobia, looking for a nastier version of the same loop. It delivers: the investigation phase feels heavier, the exorcism mechanic adds a genuine risk-reward decision Phasmophobia doesn't have, and the scares land harder when they land. Xbox reliability is the catch. Sessions have been less consistent for us than Phasmophobia's, with the occasional connection hiccup mid-investigation that breaks the tension at the worst moment. If your group has already burned through the ghost-hunting genre's biggest name and wants a rougher, meaner alternative, this is worth the download. Just don't expect the same polish.
