Texas Chain Saw Massacre trades Dead by Daylight's arcade chase for something slower and meaner. Victims have to actually stay quiet and read the map instead of just running in circles, and the Family players get real tools to hunt by sound rather than just sprinting you down. I like it best on nights when the group wants tension instead of chaos, which is not every night. Crossplay covers PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles, but there's no last-gen or Switch support, so the pool is smaller than the genre leader's. Population dips outside peak hours. Still, for groups who want a stealthier, more claustrophobic horror pick with genuine slasher pedigree behind it, nothing else on this list matches the atmosphere.

Seven players, one of them playing Leatherface chasing the other six through a farmhouse. The premise works, and in practice the asymmetry delivers genuine slasher tension that the bigger names in the genre sometimes smooth over into something more gamey. The problem is that the game's future support is in question. It remains playable right now and private matches are easy to set up, but recommending a live-service horror game with reported end-of-support concerns for a list built around long-term event value felt irresponsible. If your group wants to play it this weekend, it is a strong session. Just do not build an entire LAN night around it.
Gun Interactive understood the source material. When Leatherface bursts through a wall and the three victims scatter in different directions, each running on pure instinct, the game is genuinely capturing something the films had. The 3v4 structure gives the victim side more agency than most asymmetrical games, and the sound design is oppressive in a way that keeps you uncomfortable even between chases. Here is the honest part though: active development ended in early 2025, and that matters. Servers are running and matches are finding players, but the trajectory has changed. Buy it on sale with friends who are ready to play it now. Treating it as a long-term investment would be a mistake.
