Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting older now, and the onboarding and online activity reflect that compared to newer entries. But it is too good to leave off. As an adaptation of animated source material into a real versus game, it is still the standard bearer. The 3v3 assists and explosive confirms create moments that feel specific to the Dragon Ball fantasy in a way that pure mechanics cannot replicate. I picked it up after a run of Tekken sessions and the speed difference is jarring in the best possible way. Fast, spectacular, and still competitively honest despite the age. Not the first pick for serious ranked grinders, but easily the pick for spectacle with substance.

Overview
About DRAGON BALL FighterZ
Dragon Ball FighterZ is born from what makes the Dragon Ball series so loved and famous: endless spectacular fights with its all-powerful fighters.
Story setup
A strange catastrophe has fallen over the world of Dragon Ball. The powers and very souls of Earth's mightiest warriors have been sealed away, and eerie clones of both heroes and villains have begun appearing across the planet. Waking beside Bulma, Goku finds his strength drained and his fellow Z Fighters missing, only to discover that a human consciousness, the player, has become mysteriously linked to his body, lending him the power to fight on. As Goku, Krillin, and their allies search for answers, they uncover the work of Android 21, a brilliant and unsettling new creation of the Red Ribbon Army who has resurrected old enemies like Frieza and Cell for her own hidden purposes. Struggling against a growing hunger within her, Android 21 sets heroes and villains against one another, forcing bitter rivals into uneasy alliances. To restore the world, Goku and his companions must grow stronger and confront the mystery at its heart.
