The Outer Worlds 2 is the breezy one. Obsidian's sci-fi satire is still funny, companions chat during quests, and flaws let you take a permanent drawback in exchange for a perk, which is the kind of choice I actually enjoy making. I played through the opening hours quickly because nothing demands homework. That is also why it stalls outside the top ten. Mass Effect and Cyberpunk already cover sci-fi with more weight, and the RPG systems here, while solid, rarely surprise you after the first hour or two. It works as a palate cleanser between bigger commitments.

The Outer Worlds 2 is a late 2025 arrival and a solid one, first-person western RPG with the kind of dialogue choices and companion banter that made the original a cult favourite. Perk builds are flexible enough to support a few different playstyles, and the writing has the same dry humor running through it. It didn't crack the top 10 mainly because it's still finding its own identity next to bigger, more polished western RPGs like Cyberpunk 2077 on this same list. Not perfect yet. I played through the opening hours and came away liking it more than I expected to. Worth watching, and worth playing if you want something newer than the genre's established giants.
