Deadfire is the purest party-based CRPG on the service, with multiclassing combinations that let you build something odd and then take it to sea. I used to love this kind of build puzzle. These days a character screen this dense eats the whole evening before anything has happened. Companion writing is strong and the quests are plentiful, but the real-time-with-pause fights and the systems underneath assume you already speak the genre. That is why it missed the top ten. If you cut your teeth on Baldur's Gate, you will be fine. Everyone else should try Wasteland 3 first.
