Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition is one of those games that quietly outlasts the console generation it first appeared on. I hadn't touched it since a friend had it on Wii U years ago, and finding it on Switch felt like rediscovering something I'd forgotten I loved. Four-player local platforming here means jumping through the vivid Glade of Dreams while somebody inevitably grabs a Lum you were reaching for, and the ambient music-sync levels are still some of the best rhythm-platforming set pieces in any game. It ranks lower than the newer platformers mainly because its mode variety is thinner. There's really just the one format. Co-op through the campaign, nothing else. Even so, the level design here holds up against anything currently on Switch.
