Crimson Desert is the newest entry on this list, and also the one I have the least hands-on time with, which is exactly why it sits at the bottom of the honorable mentions rather than higher. Fantasy is my favourite genre going in, and everything shown so far points to a large-scale, combat-forward sandbox in that vein, closer to Elden Ring's scale than Hogwarts Legacy's atmosphere. It runs well on PS5 already, no major technical complaints so far. What's missing is the long-term track record every other game on this list already has, months or years of people actually living in the world and reporting back on whether it holds up past the opening hours. Worth watching, not yet worth ranking with confidence.
