Horizon Forbidden West came bundled with my PS5, so the plan was to check how it looked on my new QD-OLED and move on. It looked spectacular, and then the game took over anyway. I finished this one completely, which says something given how little spare time I actually have most weeks. The machine fights are the reason: every encounter asks you to read weak points and elemental types instead of just mashing attack, and the biomes shift from coastal cliffs to red-dust canyons often enough that exploring never goes flat. It's more guided than Elden Ring, activities are clearly marked and the pacing nudges you forward, but the production values are some of the best on the platform. Vibrant, colourful, and genuinely worth finishing.
