R.E.P.O. is the one honorable mention I'd genuinely put on voice chat before anything else on this list, because half the panic comes from someone shouting instructions while a ragdolled teammate gets dragged through a doorway by something none of you can see properly. It's extraction horror played mostly for laughs, physics-based hauling under time pressure with a monster that punishes noise. The horror-comedy tone is something nothing else here really offers. It's newer and more trend-driven than the ranked picks, and I'd want to see it hold a playerbase for another year before ranking it properly, but right now it's a surprise hit worth trying with a group that already knows each other.

R.E.P.O. is 2025's answer to Lethal Company: physics-based horror co-op where the comedy comes directly from everything going wrong at once. You are trying to carry expensive equipment out of a haunted location while monsters chase you and the objects behave in ways that defy any reasonable expectation. I ran this with my regular group and the sessions were maybe forty minutes each, which is close to perfect for a weeknight. Controller support is good rather than great, and it is still in Early Access, so expect rough edges. But the multiplayer energy is exactly right, and it runs on Deck without major complaints. Fresh, social, and worth the download.
R.E.P.O. landed in 2025 and immediately became the thing everyone at LAN parties was talking about. Six players, physics-driven object hauling, monsters that punish coordination failures in the most spectacular ways possible. What sets it apart from Lethal Company is the larger player count. When you have six people in a room and one of them drops a grand piano down a staircase onto a teammate while a creature is actively closing in, the group reaction is something you cannot manufacture. I would call it the best recent pick for bigger LAN setups, though it is still early access and stability can be inconsistent across long sessions.
