Sunderfolk is the newest name on this list, and it earns its spot by doing something almost nobody else attempts: four-player split-screen for a tactical fantasy campaign. Fantasy is my favourite genre across pretty much every medium, and a shared-screen version of a tabletop-style adventure is exactly the kind of thing I'd want to try between rounds of Age of Empires at a LAN night. The split gets busy managing four separate character views. Setup takes longer than it should. It just missed the top ten on mode depth, not on ambition.
