Tunic is the one game on this list that made me screenshot in-game pages like I was back in school taking notes for a test. The instruction manual is written in a language you have to decode as you go, and figuring out a rune on page 34 unlocks something you walked past three hours earlier. I don't usually chase every secret in a game, but this one earns the detour every single time. Smaller in scope than the top ten. That's exactly why it sits here instead of higher. If you like the feeling of actually earning a discovery instead of having a quest marker hand it to you, this is worth clearing an evening for.
