Space Marine 2 came up in conversation at my last LAN session from someone who had just finished the campaign with two friends and described it as the most satisfying third-person shooting he had played in years. I went in shortly after. The Operations mode gives you a separate co-op lane from the main campaign, which means you can farm and replay missions with friends without retreading story content you have already seen. The spectacle is enormous. Thousands of Tyranids filling the screen while three Space Marines wade through them is not subtle, but it does not need to be. It sits at seven because melee carries as much weight as shooting here, and the co-op breadth is narrower than the games above it.

Space Marine 2 is the one my group actually asked to play again after we finished the campaign, which almost never happens once credits roll. The bolter has real weight. Melee finishers are satisfyingly brutal. Going loud against a Tyranid swarm with two friends on headsets is chaos in the best way. Operations mode extends the co-op well past the story, and it scales fine even when one of us is clearly the weak link. The combat depth isn't as layered as DOOM Eternal's, and if you're chasing precision gunplay over spectacle, this ranks a notch below it. For co-op shooter nights, though, nothing else on this list hits as hard.
Three players. That is the number this game is built around, and once you have a squad of three in Operations mode, it clicks in a way that is hard to explain without just telling someone to play it. You are not sneaking. You are not strategising from a distance. You are wading into hundreds of Tyranids with a chainsword, and the weight of every swing communicates exactly what the game wants to be. I ran this with my regular online group after we finished Helldivers 2 and it scratched a similar itch with less randomness and more spectacle. The versus mode exists but Operations is the reason you are here.
