Yomawari: Lost in the Dark looks like exactly the kind of colorful, gentle game I'd normally pick off a PS Plus library for an unwinding hour, small sprites, soft pastel art, a dog you're trying to find. Then the spirits show up, and the top-down vulnerability, no way to fight back, only run and hide, turns that same cute art style genuinely upsetting. I went in expecting a cozy stroll and left checking corners in real hallways for a night or two after. It's the newest mainline entry in the series on Switch and a stronger single pick than the older collection. It lands as an honorable mention rather than a top ten spot mainly because its slower pace will test the patience some players don't have left after the bigger names above it.
