I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition and have had four days with FC 27 by the time I'm writing this, which is not long, but long enough to know it builds on what FC 26 already got right rather than starting over. That continuity matters after years of watching this franchise chase small changes that barely justified the price. Some reviewers are calling it the same game with a roster update. For me, that's worth the price of admission. Career Mode finally feels like it has weight behind managerial decisions, and Clubs remains the mode that ate most of my evenings back when EA FC was still called something else. Ultimate Team's pack economy is still the one thing I'd change if I could.
