Basketball is the one sport I'll actually stay up late for, and NBA 2K27 is the closest any game on this list gets to matching what makes the real thing exciting. The athleticism translates almost flawlessly: the hesitation moves, the way a good defender closes out on a shooter, the broadcast presentation with real commentary teams reading the flow of a game rather than just narrating stats. MyCAREER and MyTEAM give you more modes than you could reasonably finish. Here's the catch. The monetization around MyTEAM packs is aggressive even by 2K standards, and the learning curve for competitive play punishes anyone who skips the tutorial. If you can look past that, this is the deepest basketball package on Xbox by a wide margin.
