The Verdict

Best if you want a team shooter where the environment is your most powerful weapon—walls crumble, floors collapse, and every match reshapes the battlefield in real time.

What It's Like to Play

THE FINALS reinvents objective-based shooters by making destruction the star. Every arena can be torn apart, blown up, or tunneled through, turning static maps into evolving tactical puzzles. Your squad of three picks from Light, Medium, or Heavy body types, each with it's distinct movement speeds, health pools, and gadget slots, then competes to steal cash vaults and bank them while other teams hunt you down. The brilliance lies in how destruction changes everything: punch through a wall to flank, collapse a ceiling on defenders, or use a grappling hook to yank an objective through a fresh hole in the floor. The learning curve is surprisingly approachable. Practice ranges let you test every gadget and weapon, and the class system gives clear roles: Lights scout and harass, Mediums flex between support and offense, Heavies anchor with shields and firepower. Matches run 20–30 minutes across multiple rounds, so you can experiment with loadouts between phases. Ranked Tournament mode adds structure for competitive squads, while Quick Cash offers faster, looser sessions. What sets this apart from traditional shooters is how destruction rewards creativity over rote memorization. Sightlines vanish as buildings crumble. Choke points open mid-fight. Teams that adapt—using ziplines after stairs collapse, or grenades to reshape cover—dominate those playing by old rules. Seasonal updates rotate maps and balance, keeping the sandbox fresh, though the mode selection remains narrower than Battlefield or Apex. The free-to-play model is generous: all gameplay is available from the start, with cosmetics funding ongoing support. Crossplay ensures healthy queues, and the spectacle (buildings toppling, vaults dangling from cranes) makes every round feel like a high-stakes game show. It's not for players craving vast mode variety or solo carry potential, but for squads hungry for improvisation and tactical chaos, THE FINALS delivers the most innovative gunplay loop in years.

  • Players seeking a slower, methodical tactical shooter pace
Overview

About The Finals

The Finals is the world’s first Dynamism Shooter, a free-to-play, fast-paced, physics-driven, first-person shooter set on the stage of the biggest Gameshow of the future! Fight for Fans and fortune in fully-destructible, virtual Arenas that guarantee no two rounds will ever play the same!
Story setup
The Finals takes place about 75 years in the future, roughly around the year 2100. It is the greatest virtual game show on the planet, with a large, global fan base, and is considered a window to a bigger world outside of the real one - known as the Meatspace. Virtual reality is where most people spend their time, and THE FINALS allows them to join as contestants to play in hyper-realistic arenas and fight for fame, money, and the favor of generous seasonal sponsors, who want exposure to the show's massive audience for their brand and products. The game show has been a target of rogue hacker collective CNS, who have staged multiple takeovers urging viewers to "seek the truth beyond the walls." Their conflict with MultiCo's enlisted cyber security firm, VAIIYA, has drawn more attention to the game show than ever before. Unbeknownst to most however, a new 'Third Force' has been listening, and is finally making their presence known.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this game, answered by our team.

How hard is it to learn?

Moderate difficulty. The class system and practice range make basics approachable, but mastering destruction-based tactics and team synergy takes time. Ranked offers clear progression for dedicated squads.

How long are matches?

Most matches last 20–30 minutes across multiple rounds. Quick Cash mode offers faster sessions, while Tournament ranked can stretch slightly longer with tiebreakers.

Can I play solo or do I need a squad?

You can queue solo and matchmake with randoms, but team coordination is critical for success. Premade squads with voice chat have a significant advantage in objective control and destruction strategies.

Is it pay-to-win?

No. All weapons, gadgets, and classes are free. Microtransactions cover only cosmetics. The battle pass offers skins and currency but grants no gameplay advantages.

Does it have good replay value?

Yes for team players. Destruction ensures no two fights play identically, and seasonal updates rotate maps and meta. The narrow mode set may limit variety for solo grinders compared to broader shooters.
