Astral Chain is the strangest thing Nintendo has published on Switch, a PlatinumGames detective-action hybrid where you control your character and a tethered Legion creature in the same button press. I'm not usually a character-action player, my combat instincts come from years of Call of Duty campaigns rather than combo strings. It punished me. Repeatedly, and fairly. The dual-control combat takes real hours to click, longer than anything else on this list asks of a newcomer. Once it clicks, juggling enemies between agent and Legion feels like nothing else on Switch. It's an outlier here, edgier and more demanding than Nintendo's usual output, worth a look if the rest of this list feels too familiar.

Overview
About Astral Chain
Astral Chain is a stylish action game that blends fast-paced combat with investigation elements. Players fight alongside a controllable companion called a Legion, using coordinated attacks, restraints, and abilities to overcome enemies and solve environmental challenges.
The game mixes high-energy battles with exploration and light detective work, offering varied gameplay and a strong focus on fluid, dual-character combat.
Story setup
In the Ark, a multi-cultural city in the near future, disaster strikes when gates to another dimension suddenly appear! Dangerous creatures begin to emerge, attacking the people and polluting the land, and normal police forces are unable to compete with them. To stand up against these threats, a brand new, special police unit known as Neuron is formed.
